A heart-wrenching incident has rocked Lucknow, plunging the community into sorrow and shock. A 10-year-old boy, Namish, the son of Additional Superintendent of Police Shweta Shrivastava, met a tragic fate when he was fatally crushed by a speeding SUV while practising skating in the serene streets of the upscale Gomti Nagar Extension area.

The incident unfolded around 5:30 am on Tuesday, as young Namish was engrossed in his morning routine of skating near a local park. In a gut-wrenching turn of events, a white SUV hurtled past, striking the innocent child before speeding away callously. Despite immediate efforts to rush Namish to a hospital, the impact of the accident proved fatal, leading to the untimely demise of the promising young soul.

The tragic loss of Namish, a child full of life and promise, has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting swift action from law enforcement authorities. Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashish Srivastava spearheaded the investigation, forming five dedicated teams to track down the fleeing SUV and identify the responsible driver.

With the aid of surveillance footage from CCTV cameras installed near the Janeshwar Mishra Park, where the catastrophic incident occurred, a breakthrough emerged in the case. The SUV was successfully traced, leading to the apprehension of two individuals, Sarthak Singh and Devshri Verma, in connection with the heart-wrenching accident.

This tragic incident not only highlights the devastating consequences of reckless driving but also underscores the urgent need for enhanced road safety measures. The incident resonates deeply, shedding light on the perilous consequences of irresponsible driving practices prevalent in society, risking innocent lives and shattering families.

Moreover, this unfortunate event brings to the forefront the pressing issue of youth’s involvement in reckless driving practices. Cases of speeding, negligent behavior, and a lack of regard for road safety norms among the youth have become a growing concern. Such incidents serve as poignant reminders of the dire need for extensive awareness campaigns, stringent enforcement of traffic laws, and comprehensive educational initiatives to instill responsible driving habits among the youth.

As the community mourns the irreparable loss of young Namish, it serves as a solemn call to action for authorities and society at large to intensify efforts towards creating safer roads and fostering a culture of responsible driving, ensuring that tragedies like these become a thing of the past.
