Larger Touchscreen, Enhanced Features, and Revised Styling for the Updated Compact SUV
In the midst of high-altitude testing in Leh, Mahindra’s highly anticipated XUV300 facelift has been caught by spy photographers, offering a glimpse into the interior enhancements and design tweaks of this compact SUV.
Interior Innovations
The latest spy shots provide a clear view of the XUV300 facelift’s upgraded touchscreen infotainment system. While the lower trims are expected to retain the existing 7.0-inch screen, higher-end variants will feature a new, larger touchscreen measuring approximately 10 inches. This touchscreen, shared with the upcoming Thar 5-door SUV, appears to include dedicated buttons for functions such as volume control and other infotainment-related operations. There is also speculation about the inclusion of a fully digital instrument cluster and other interior improvements.
Exterior Evolution
The exterior design of the XUV300 facelift reflects Mahindra’s BE-inspired aesthetics. The front end exhibits a distinctive division into four sections, with vertically oriented headlamp clusters that align with contemporary design trends and the larger XUV700.
The design hints at LED daytime running lights (DRLs) outlining the headlamp clusters, possibly positioned above or alongside them. The central upper section is likely to feature a piano black panel adorned with the Mahindra “twin peaks” logo. The front bumper is divided into two segments, with an air inlet in the center, accentuated by character lines. Expect a mix of matte black and body-colored elements in the final design.
The XUV300 facelift is anticipated to bear a family resemblance to the XUV700 and the forthcoming BE lineup, particularly in the rear section. A redesigned tailgate and a full-width LED light bar may be incorporated, similar to the BE concepts. The taillights are expected to be C-shaped units with LED elements.
Powertrain Continuity
Mechanically, the XUV300 facelift is unlikely to introduce significant changes, having already received updates to comply with BS6 Stage II emissions norms. It should continue with the existing powertrains, including the 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo-petrol engines with 110hp and 131hp, as well as the 117hp 1.5-liter diesel engine.
Launch Timeline
Sources suggest that the XUV300 facelift is slated for launch in the upcoming year. It will compete with rivals like the Hyundai Venue, recently updated Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, and the Kia Sonet (with its facelift expected early next year).
As anticipation builds for this refreshed compact SUV, enthusiasts and buyers can look forward to a combination of enhanced interior features and a stylish exterior design.
