Mahindra, a prominent name in the automotive industry, is set to unveil an upgraded version of its popular sub-4-meter SUV, the XUV300, in the first half of 2024. Recognized as a consistent performer within its segment, the XUV300 is preparing for a significant overhaul, aimed at narrowing the gap between itself and the leading sub-4-meter SUVs dominating the market.

Despite maintaining respectable sales figures, the current XUV300 has trailed behind market dominators such as the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet. However, all eyes are now on the forthcoming facelift, speculated to be the catalyst needed for the XUV300 to attain a more competitive edge in the fiercely contested SUV market.

The latest spy shots, credited to Bunny Punia, have provided a glimpse of the forthcoming transformation. The exterior revamp promises a striking impression, showcasing a bold and sleek redesign. Inspired by Mahindra’s BE05 Electric SUV, the facelifted XUV300 exhibits revamped headlamps, distinctive C-shaped LED DRLs, an enhanced front grille, and a redesigned bumper, delivering a more muscular and refreshed profile. Furthermore, the rear echoes the front’s boldness with new C-shaped LED tail lights and a redesigned boot lid, aimed at elevating the overall aesthetics of the vehicle.

While the exterior enhancements aim to redefine the XUV300’s visual appeal, the interior is also poised for a significant upgrade. Inside, the facelift boasts a revamped dashboard housing a larger freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, promising an enhanced user experience. Notable additions include center AC vents beneath the touchscreen and the debut of a panoramic sunroof, marking a first in its segment. Upholstery and ambient lighting are expected to receive premium touches, aligning with Mahindra’s vision to introduce a host of upscale features. Anticipated additions encompass the AdrenoX UI supporting OTA updates, ventilated front seats, a digital instrument display, wireless phone charging, and a 360° surround-view camera, further elevating the vehicle’s allure.

Under the hood, the XUV300 facelift maintains its existing engine options: a 1.2-liter turbo petrol MPI engine generating 110 PS of power, a 1.2-liter turbo petrol GDI engine with 130 PS, and a 1.5-liter turbo diesel. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed auto shift. However, speculations suggest a potential shift from the AMT to a torque converter automatic, aligning with offerings from leading rivals, aimed at enhancing the driving experience and catering to consumer preferences.

As the road tests progress, anticipation for the XUV300 facelift’s early launch is mounting. With a blend of exterior elegance, interior sophistication, and upgraded drivetrain options, Mahindra aims to position the XUV300 facelift as a significant player in the fiercely competitive sub-4-meter SUV segment. While final details and pricing await official confirmation, the facelifted XUV300 is gearing up to offer a more compelling proposition, aiming to capture the hearts of SUV enthusiasts and potential buyers alike. The transformation promises a redefined excellence, setting the stage for a game-changing impact in the realm of compact SUVs.
