India-Bound Model to Be Showcased at Japan Mobility Show
Suzuki has provided a sneak peek of the upcoming next-generation Swift, which is set to make its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show. While Suzuki officially dubs it the ‘Swift Concept’, the vehicle appears production-ready and is generating significant anticipation in the automotive world. The new Swift is expected to launch in 2024 and is bound for the Indian market as well.
The unveiling of the Swift Concept is part of Suzuki Motor Corporation’s participation in the JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2023, organized by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association. This prestigious event will be held at Tokyo Big Sight from October 26 to November 5, 2023.
The theme for Suzuki’s booth at the event is “Answers for Excitement throughout the World.” Suzuki aims to present a wide range of mobility solutions, including concept models of automobiles and motorcycles, as well as next-generation mobility and outboard motors.
As part of their commitment to carbon neutrality, Suzuki will also introduce its multi-pathway initiatives, including its CBG (Compressed Biogas) business in India.
Among the main automotive exhibits, Suzuki will showcase the eVX, their first global strategic electric vehicle (EV). The eVX was initially unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023 in India and has since undergone further exterior refinement. This event marks the first public revelation of its interior design.
The eWX, a concept model mini wagon EV, combines the fun and practicality of a mini wagon unique to Suzuki with futuristic EV technology.
Suzuki will also present the e EVERY CONCEPT, a mini-commercial battery-electric van equipped with a BEV system developed in collaboration with Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd., and Toyota Motor Corporation. This model not only offers silent and powerful EV driving but also has the capability to supply electricity in emergency situations, maintaining the user-friendliness of a mini-commercial van.
Additionally, Suzuki will display the Spacia, a minicar known for its distinctive styling and spacious cabin. Production models such as the 3-door Jimny, Hustler, and Solio are scheduled to be exhibited.
In June 2023, Suzuki signed a significant agreement with SkyDrive Inc. regarding the manufacturing of “flying cars.” The company plans to utilize one of its plants in Shizuoka Prefecture to commence manufacturing “flying cars” around the spring of 2024. At the event, Suzuki will showcase a 1/5 size scale model and share details about this collaboration.
This presentation at the JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2023 is not only about showcasing Suzuki’s product range but also about providing visitors with test rides of the KUPO in the next-generation mobility test ride area as part of the “Tokyo Future Tour” program.
In summary, Suzuki’s participation in the JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2023 promises to be a comprehensive display of the brand’s commitment to innovative mobility solutions, carbon neutrality, and exciting new vehicle models, including the highly anticipated next-generation Swift.
