The test mule of the Wagon R facelift, bearing a striking resemblance to the previously glimpsed Wagon R EV prototype, surfaces amidst speculations following the shelving of the Wagon R EV project due to cost constraints. Instead, Maruti Suzuki aims to debut the Maruti eVX as its premier all-electric vehicle in 2024.
With the EV variant put on hold, the focus now seems to shift towards aligning the Wagon R facelift’s styling with cues from the EV prototype. Notably, the prototype teases a revamped bumper design adorned with repositioned reflectors and robust black cladding on the lower section, exuding a more rugged aesthetic. The subtle camouflage hints at an updated tail light design, keeping enthusiasts curious about the final reveal.
Anticipate a refreshed front profile, possibly featuring a redesigned grille, updated headlight elements, and revised bumper design while retaining the familiar fog lamps. These will continue to be available with both manual and AMT gearbox choices, catering to diverse driving preferences. Additionally, the CNG powertrain option will remain a part of the lineup.
