Kia India has generated significant buzz with the release of a teaser video for the upcoming Sonet facelift SUV. As a key player in the sub-4 meter SUV segment, the Sonet has been a favorite since its inception and is the second made-in-India product from Kia. A recent online leak of the Sonet facelift’s brochure, shared by Adi Zone on YouTube, has unveiled comprehensive details about the anticipated model.
**Engine Options**
The facelifted Kia Sonet will retain its engine lineup, offering a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with a manual transmission, a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, and 6-speed automatic transmission options, and a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Notably, the diesel version reintroduces the manual transmission that was absent in the pre-facelift version.
**Variants**
The SUV will maintain its Tech Line, GT Line, and X-Line variants. Wheel options include 15-inch steel rims for the base variant, 16-inch steel rims with a new design for mid-range variants, and 16-inch alloy wheels with the same design for higher variants.
**Interior Updates**
The Sonet’s interior receives enhancements, such as a new tan-colored seat cover option and the introduction of the Pewter Olive Green shade, previously available with the Seltos. Kia will offer eight monotone colors and two dual-tone options, with the Xclusive Matte Graphite shade exclusive to the X-Line variant.
**Exterior Redesign**
The facelifted Sonet showcases a redesigned front-end with new headlamps, potentially featuring all-LED headlamps for higher variants. The LED DRLs have been updated to exude a more aggressive look, extending into the tiger nose grille. The bumper is also expected to undergo a redesign.
**Rear Updates**
The rear of the Sonet facelift boasts redesigned all-LED tail lamps reminiscent of the Seltos and other international models. Kia will introduce a new digital instrument cluster and Level-1 ADAS features, including forward collision warning, lane departure warning, forward collision avoidance assistance and warning, high beam assist, and lane-keeping assist.
With these exciting updates, the 2024 Kia Sonet facelift is poised to build on its popularity and offer an enhanced driving experience in the competitive sub-4 meter SUV segment.
