In a significant move, Mahindra has filed a trademark for ‘Scorpio X,’ marking a pivotal step towards the development and launch of their much-anticipated Scorpio-N based pickup. While trademarks for Scorpio K, Scorpio L, Scorpio M, and Scorpio Z were also submitted, only Scorpio X has been accepted, hinting at its unique identity in Mahindra’s lineup.

This new pickup is poised to make waves with its cutting-edge features and a robust platform. Set to debut in 2025, the Scorpio X aims to capture both domestic and international markets, showcasing Mahindra’s commitment to innovation and excellence.

**Advanced Tech Features and International Expansion**

The Scorpio X will not just be another pickup; it’s set to redefine the segment with advanced tech features, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The pickup will be based on a completely new platform, Mahindra’s next-gen ladder frame, developed at the Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS). This platform is not only rugged and versatile but is also expected to support multiple powertrain options, possibly including electric variants.

Mahindra, known for its successful pickups like the Karoo, Bolero, and Pik-Up, plans to introduce the Scorpio X globally. Strongholds like South Africa, Australia, the Middle East, North Africa, and SCA will be among the first to witness the Scorpio X, followed by a phased introduction in ASEAN markets.

**Design and Features**

Drawing inspiration from the Scorpio-N SUV, the Scorpio X pickup boasts a more rugged front fascia, featuring a roof-mounted LED light bar, a bold blacked-out grille, prominent bumpers, and front and rear winches. The side profile exudes sportiness with a snorkel, stylish alloy wheels, side steps, and roof rails, while the rear complements the front’s design language.

Inside, the Scorpio X promises a premium experience with Level-2 ADAS, a large touchscreen, a digital instrument console, wireless charging, driver drowsiness detection, 5G connectivity, and a comprehensive safety package, including front-side-and-curtain airbags and trailer sway mitigation.

**Performance and Powertrain Options**

Continuing the legacy of the Scorpio N SUV, the Scorpio X will likely offer similar engine options. The 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, generates 200 hp and 370 Nm of torque, while the 6AT variant produces 380 Nm of torque. The 2.2-liter diesel engine will be available in two states of tune – 130 hp with 300 Nm of torque and a higher-tuned version delivering 172 hp and 370 Nm (MT) / 400 Nm (AT). Equipped with 4WD and multiple terrain modes, the Scorpio X is set to deliver a powerful and versatile performance.

In conclusion, the Mahindra Scorpio X pickup is gearing up to be a game-changer, combining advanced technology, a rugged design, and international appeal. With its trademark secured and extensive testing underway, Mahindra enthusiasts can look forward to an exciting addition to the iconic Scorpio lineup in 2025.
