Receives Three Fines for Reckless Driving in Lamborghini Urus SUV

Indian cricket’s “hitman” Rohit Sharma, known for his exceptional performance on the field, has recently made headlines for a different reason. While the cricketing world is focused on the ongoing World Cup, Rohit Sharma’s love for speed has landed him in hot water. The Indian skipper was recently fined three times for overspeeding on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway during his journey from Mumbai to Pune.

Rohit Sharma’s Need for Speed

Rohit Sharma, who is known for his remarkable batting skills, is also recognized for his passion for fast cars. On this particular day, he was behind the wheel of his Lamborghini Urus Super SUV. This high-performance vehicle is known for its speed and power.

Speeding Incidents

Reports suggest that Rohit Sharma was pushing the limits of his Lamborghini Urus on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The car was clocked at speeds exceeding 200 km/h and, at times, even touched 215 km/h. Unfortunately for the cricketer, the expressway is equipped with surveillance cameras to monitor vehicle speeds, which captured his overspeeding not once, but three times.

Three Traffic Challans

Rohit Sharma’s reckless driving behavior resulted in the issuance of three traffic challans for overspeeding on the expressway. This incident has raised concerns among cricket fans and traffic officials, primarily due to the safety risks associated with such high-speed driving on a public highway.

Safety Concerns

The Mumbai-Pune Expressway has a prescribed speed limit of 100 km/h, and Rohit Sharma was driving at nearly double the recommended speed. The safety concerns are magnified because this is a public highway, shared with other road users, making the risk of collisions significantly high. Thankfully, no accidents occurred in this instance.

Public Reaction

The incident has led to questions about the cricketer’s safety and the need for responsible travel, especially during an important event like the World Cup. A source from the Traffic Department emphasized that Rohit should have traveled with the team, preferably in the team bus with police escort for added safety.

Rohit’s Love for the Lamborghini Urus

Rohit Sharma is frequently seen driving his Lamborghini Urus in Mumbai. The cricketer’s Urus is customized to his liking, featuring a rich “Blu Eleos” paint, matching the shade of the Indian cricket team jersey, which happens to be his favorite color. The interior boasts a custom dual-tone combination of Ross Alala (cherry red) and Nero (black).

Impressive Performance and Price

The Lamborghini Urus is not only one of the fastest-selling Lamborghinis in India but also around the world. It is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine, producing a staggering 650 PS and 850 Nm of peak torque, mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. However, this level of luxury and performance comes at a cost, with prices starting at Rs 4.2 crore in India and increasing with customization.

Rohit Sharma’s need for speed may have landed him in hot water, but it also showcases his love for high-performance automobiles. As fans hope for his continued success on the cricket field, let’s hope he takes a more cautious approach behind the wheel.”
