Tata Motors has reached a significant milestone in the realm of automotive safety with its latest offerings, the 2023 Tata Harrier and Tata Safari facelifts. Both of these SUVs have garnered a prestigious 5-star safety rating in the Global NCAP test, solidifying their positions as among the safest cars in Tata’s lineup.

Exceptional Safety Performance

The achievement of a 5-star safety rating for both adult and child occupants in the Global NCAP test reflects the robust safety features and engineering prowess of these vehicles. The Tata Harrier and Safari facelifts underwent rigorous testing, including assessments for frontal and side impact protection, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), pedestrian protection, and side impact pole protection. Both models exhibited a stable structure and an effective restraint system, ensuring good protection in the event of a collision.

Child Safety a Priority

One of the standout features of the Tata Harrier and Safari is their commitment to child safety. These SUVs received full protection ratings for child occupants during dynamic tests. Equipped with ISOFIX anchorages and a passenger airbag disabling switch, these vehicles offer exceptional versatility for transporting young passengers. This focus on child safety aligns with global safety standards, including UN127 and GTR9 for pedestrian protection.

Electronic Stability Control and ADAS Technologies

Both the Tata Harrier and Safari meet Global NCAP’s ESC requirements and feature seatbelt reminders in all seating positions. Additionally, they offer optional Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technologies, enhancing driver assistance and overall safety on the road.

Global NCAP and Industry Applause

The achievement of a 5-star safety rating for the Tata Harrier and Safari facelifts received accolades from Global NCAP officials. Alejandro Furas, Global NCAP Secretary General, commended Tata’s commitment to developing safer vehicles. He described the result as a “very strong result” and a confirmation of the manufacturer’s dedication to safety.

David Ward, President of the Towards Zero Foundation, highlighted the positive safety trend demonstrated by the Tata Safari and Harrier. He expressed confidence that this trend would continue throughout the Indian automotive industry as Global NCAP’s testing transitions to the work of Bharat NCAP.

New Look and Enhanced Features

The facelift versions of the Harrier and Safari not only impress with their safety credentials but also bring a refreshed profile and an added dose of sportiness. Drawing inspiration from Tata’s new design language, which incorporates the Curvv concept expected to reach production in 2024, these vehicles showcase the brand’s commitment to evolving and staying at the forefront of automotive design.

Conclusion

The Tata Harrier and Safari facelifts have not only elevated their safety standards but also set a benchmark for the Indian automotive industry. These SUVs have made a resounding statement in favor of safety, earning a 5-star safety rating in the Global NCAP test. As they continue to combine style, innovation, and security, they represent a significant step forward in Tata Motors’ quest to reduce road accidents and promote safer cars in India.
