A Comprehensive Look at Variant-Wise Features and Notable Upgrades

The forthcoming Tata Safari facelift has generated a buzz with its impressive range of features and enhancements. Leaked brochures now provide an in-depth look at the variant-wise features and updates that await potential buyers.

Luxurious Second-Row Comfort

Tata Safari has long been hailed for its passenger-centric design, and the facelift aims to elevate this reputation. The standout feature remains the ventilated second-row seats, a rarity in vehicles priced under one crore. The facelift goes further by adding comfort headrests, rear sunshades, an electrically operated Boss Mode, and configurable ambient lighting around its panoramic sunroof.

A Radical New Design

Inspired by the Curvv concept, the updated Safari boasts a striking exterior. Key changes include a parametric studded grill with a cascading effect and vertically arranged headlights. The dashboard receives a radical makeover as well. The trim nomenclature, previously letter-based, is now word-based: Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Accomplished.

Smart (O) Variant

The base Smart trim comes with LED projector headlights, connected LED tail lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, illuminated steering with tilt and telescopic adjustment, auto climate control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, perimetric alarm system, 2nd and 3rd row AC vents, roof rails, manual ‘Boss Mode,’ and more. Safety features include 6 airbags, all four disc brakes, ESP, hill hold, TCS, roll over mitigation, corner stability control, brake disc wiping, ABS, EBD, TPMS, rear parking sensors, 3-point seatbelts, central locking, and more.

Pure (O) Variant

The Pure (O) trim enhances the feel-good factor with a 10.24-inch infotainment screen featuring wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 6-speaker setup, steering-mounted controls, rear camera, electrically folding ORVM, rear washer and wiper, remote central locking, and more.

Adventure Variant

Moving up to the Adventure variant, buyers can expect 18-inch alloy wheels, a Caravan Tan interior theme, a soft-touch dashboard, cruise control, Terrain Response Modes, ambient lighting, LED fog lights, follow-me headlights, rear defogger, push-button start, rear window shade, rear armrest, front armrest with cooled storage, auto up/down driver’s window, drive modes, and more.

Adventure+ and Adventure+ Dark Variants

Adventure+ introduces a panoramic sunroof with mood lighting, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, front parking sensors, auto headlights, auto wipers, wireless phone charger, and an air purifier. Automatic variants feature paddle shifters and a smart E-shifter. Adventure+ Dark, a variant within, offers a Blackstone interior theme, 19-inch alloys with aero inserts, and multiple #Dark Edition badges.

Adventure+ A Variant

Adventure+ A brings ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) to the forefront, offering 11 advanced features, including adaptive cruise control and driver doze-off alert. This trim level positions itself as a high-value proposition.

Accomplished and Accomplished Dark Variants

The Accomplished variant takes tech to another level with features such as 19-inch Spider alloy wheels, a driver’s knee airbag (totaling 7 airbags), advanced ESP with driver doze-off detection, hill descent control, a powered tailgate with gesture control, sequential LED turn indicators, welcome and goodbye function with front and rear LED signatures, LED cornering fog lights, rear fog lamps, and more. The interior boasts auto-dimming IRVM, a Terrain Response Mode selector, a 9-speaker JBL system, winged comfort head restraints for the second row, ventilated and powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, Oyster White and Titan Brown interior themes, electrically operated Boss Mode, and more. Accomplished Dark includes a Blackstone interior, black 19-inch alloys, and #Dark badging.

Accomplished+ and Accomplished+ Dark Variants

The top-of-the-line Accomplished+ variant offers 11 ADAS features, iRA 2.0 connected vehicle tech, and a 10-speaker JBL system along with ventilated second-row seats. Accomplished+ Dark takes it a step further with Blackstone interior theme, Blackstone 19-inch alloys with aero inserts, and #Dark badging.

All variants are built on the OMEGARC platform derived from Land Rover and feature a 2.0L turbo diesel engine from Stellantis, producing 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. Notably, no turbo-petrol engine is in sight.

Electric versions of the Harrier and Safari facelifts are on the horizon, with Tata set to reveal full variant-wise pricing soon.

Conclusion

The Tata Safari facelift aims to set new standards in the mid-size SUV segment by prioritizing passenger comfort and offering a comprehensive range of features across its trim levels. With its robust diesel engine and a host of upgrades, it’s poised to make a compelling case for SUV enthusiasts.
