Tech-Savvy Interiors

The teasers reveal several noteworthy updates:

        1. Digital Instrument Cluster: Both the Harrier and Safari facelifts will feature a new digital instrument cluster, expected to be around 10.25 inches in size. This tech-forward addition promises customizable displays, enhancing the overall driving experience.
        2. Infotainment Upgrade: The central touchscreen infotainment system receives an upgrade, offering a larger display for a more immersive user experience. While specifics weren’t disclosed, some speculate it could reach up to 12.3 inches.
        3. Backlit Tata Logo: The steering wheel will now proudly sport a backlit Tata logo, adding a touch of sophistication to the cabin.
        4. Ambient Lighting: An ambient lighting strip underlines the dashboard, setting the mood and accentuating the interior’s design.

A Step Up in Quality

Tata Motors seems to be elevating the interior quality of these SUVs. While the teaser offers a glimpse, previous spy shots provide additional insights:

  1. New Colored Gloss Panel: Replacing the faux wood trim found in the outgoing models, an elegant colored gloss panel will enhance the overall aesthetics.
  2. Leatherette Padding: Expect comfortable leatherette padding with contrast double stitching for a touch of luxury.
  3. Redesigned Central AC Vents: The central AC vents have been redesigned, contributing to an updated and more sophisticated look.
  4. Touch-Based HVAC Controls: The new touch-based HVAC controls with toggle switches promise user-friendly and efficient operation.

Enhanced Functionality

Tata Motors hasn’t just focused on aesthetics; functionality also gets a boost:

  1. Centre Console Redesign: The centre console area will feature a new gear lever and a revised rotary drive selector, enhancing practicality.
  2. Improved Software Systems: The software systems are expected to see improvements, ensuring seamless and efficient operation.

Under the Hood

Mechanically, both the Harrier and Safari facelifts will retain their 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine options, paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. These powertrains have been updated to meet BS6 Stage II emissions norms. Tata Motors is also working on introducing petrol and electric powertrains for these SUVs, though these options are still in the pipeline.

Stay tuned as more details unfold in the lead-up to the launch of the Harrier and Safari facelifts, set to debut in the coming weeks.
